Call for Organizers and Volunteers

WordCamps are fun, casual, locally organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress, and New York City has one of the most vibrant WordPress communities anywhere.

It’s our 10 Year Anniversary. Our attendee number has grown from a 100 plus in 2008, our first WordCamp, to 450 in 2016.

WordCampers come to NYC to network, learn, connect, and have fun! Everyone from beginners, casual users to WordPress professionals, marketers, designers and WordPress core contributors participate to share ideas, knowledge and information.

Our location is in the heart of New York State, and it intrigues and attracts speakers and attendees from across the country and even the world.

We need you to make WordCamp NYC even more enjoyable in 2018! You don’t need previous experience, or have attended our WordCamp in the past, to have a leadership role in our event.

All we require is your commitment through to the end of Sunday afternoon. Which one of these WordCamp Organizer roles do you see yourself in?

We’ve got ideas about how great our website could be. It’s great, but we believe things can always be better.  We want a CSS expert who can work from a design.  Join us today!

You will also be a key part of the Speaker’s Event by welcoming sponsors who attend.

Maybe this is the only part of WordCamp you attend. That’s because you’re on Slack all day. It’s on your phone, your iPad or Surface, your desktop or laptop, too.  You’ve seen our well known speakers at WordCamp US, in other cities and even other countries.

You just want to give back while you catch up with clients and test your plugin to ensure it’s Gutenberg compatible. Take the lead at the table for the project you contribute to. We’ll bring you coffee while you do your thing.

If you see yourself as a fit for one of these organizer or volunteer roles, email us at wordcampnewyorkcity@gmail.com with the subject line: I’m joining the WCNYC ’18 Team.

Share what type of wrangler you want to be, and whether you want to be the lead of that team. And, include anything else you think we should know.
