Call For Speakers

The vibrant New York WordPress Community wants to learn from you. We are big, diversified and active, made up of developers, designers, freelancers, agency peeps, marketers, bloggers, small businessowners and so much more.

Meeting at the crossroads of finance, fashion, media and entertainment, education, and business our WordPress community cares about each other.

We want you to join our community as a speaker at WordCamp NYC 2018, September 15 – 16. Our event will be at Convene, 117 W46 Str., Big Apple, NY.

Never spoken at a WordCamp before? Done it many times? No matter, we want you!

What We’re Looking For – Our Guidelines

  • Presentations that are relevant to all levels of WordPress users: casual users, to experienced developers, and anywhere between.
  • New and previous speakers of ALL ages and backgrounds.
  • You do not need to have previous speaking experience or be a professional speaker, but you need to be knowledgeable about the topic you are presenting.
  • You are encouraged to apply even if you have never spoken at WordCamp before. If you need some inspiration, take a look at some of the great talks published on WordPress TV.
  • All submissions will be reviewed by the organizing committee. Submission of your speaker slides or review of your presentation with an organizer prior to the event will be due by September 4th.
  • Speakers are granted free admission to WordCamp NYC 2018 and are invited to attend a speaker dinner. We are unable reimburse travel, lodging, or any other speaker expenses. If you are coming from out of town we will help you find a suitable hotel.

WordCamp NYC is committed to creating a conference that is representative of our diverse WordPress community. We welcome submissions from wide ranging backgrounds, and particularly applications from under-represented groups in tech.

Event Details

  • Your talk will be on either Saturday September 15th and/or Sunday September 16th.
  • Presentations may be recorded and the videos posted to WordPress.tv. As a result, Speakers will need to sign an
    A/V release form
    prior to giving their presentation.

The application deadline is July 9th. We’ll let you know of our decision no later than July 30th.

We will have projectors in each room with common adapters (HDMI/VGA), but you’ll need to bring your own laptop, any special adapters, and any additional tech equipment you need.
